BUSINESS ENERGY
Energy is an
operating cost.
Design accordingly.
Solar, storage and fleet charging built around the facility, its load profile and the investment mandate.

THE INVESTMENT QUESTION
Separate the value.
Then combine
the system.
INTERVAL DATA / BUSINESS CASE
Watch the load change
before sizing the system.
Compare the site’s current grid demand with solar and a deliberately controlled storage case. Values are visual logic only; Nexen models the actual interval file.
Match generation to the operating day.
Solar reduces grid import where production overlaps load. It should not be credited with demand savings where the site peak sits outside the solar window.
Test the opportunity.
Then prove it with interval data.
This model separates solar utilisation, export exposure and a demand-reduction screen. It does not treat them as one guaranteed saving.
$24,878annual solar energy screen
$5,832annual demand-charge screen
5–100 kWh nominal, solar-connected, with STCs limited to the first 50 kWh usable capacity. Product and installation gates apply.
Available from 1 September 2026 for eligible NSW business batteries from 20 kWh to 30 MWh. Building type, prior claims, approvals and participating-installer pathway must be checked.
Mid-scale SRES expansion from 100 kW to 1 MW is announced for 1 October 2026 but remains subject to regulations and is not counted here.
Interval dispatchWhen solar, load, BESS and grid limits overlap across every settlement interval.
Demand-charge outcomeWhether the battery can reach the relevant peaks with adequate power and stored energy.
Network approvalExport, connection, protection and control conditions applied by the relevant network.
Investment resultInstalled scope, tariffs, degradation, finance, incentives and operating strategy.
Provide at least 12 months where available, demand information, operating hours, existing single-line diagrams and planned loads. Nexen returns a written assumptions register before representing a payback or demand result as project-specific.
A DEFENSIBLE BUSINESS CASE
Evidence before
equipment.
- Energy & demand
- Interval data, peak demand, tariffs, operating hours and export constraints.
- Site & continuity
- Roof life, switchgear, protected loads, network approvals and access.
- Ownership
- CAPEX, finance or PPA review, subject to assessment and commercial terms.
- Delivery
- Feasibility, engineering, procurement, direct Nexen installation, commissioning and support.
