Find my system EXISTING SOLAR / BATTERY RETROFIT
A retrofit begins with what is already installed: inverter type, array capacity, age, monitoring, supply phase, switchboard and network approval. That evidence determines whether the best path is AC-coupled, platform replacement or a broader upgrade.

WHAT CHANGES FOR YOU
Retain suitable equipment where condition, compliance, compatibility and warranties support it.
Compare AC-coupled, hybrid or replacement pathways around the actual site.
Treat backup, metering and gateway hardware as part of the electrical design.
YOUR OPTIONS
Existing solar performs well and a supported battery pathway is available.
CHECK BEFORE COMMITTINGMetering, backup interaction and multiple-app experience.
A compatible upgrade creates a cleaner solar, battery and backup architecture.
CHECK BEFORE COMMITTINGArray compatibility, rework scope and warranty boundaries.
The existing system is old, underperforming or poorly aligned with future loads.
CHECK BEFORE COMMITTINGWhether the extra capital produces a meaningful long-term benefit.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Some systems support straightforward addition; others need AC coupling, a controller change or more investigation. Model number and installation details matter.
Existing solar, approved products, battery capacity and installation timing all require verification before a certificate estimate can be relied on.
Sometimes retention is best. Sometimes an ageing or incompatible inverter limits monitoring, storage or warranty outcomes. Nexen should show both cases where viable.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
A recent bill, inverter model/serial photo, switchboard photo, monitoring screenshot and any original system paperwork are the most useful starting set.
It depends on the coupling architecture. Battery modules generally need to remain within their supported controller platform, while AC-coupled options may coexist with a separate solar inverter.
The enquiry will identify the existing-system boundary. Any inspection, rectification or adopted warranty responsibility is confirmed in writing rather than assumed.
